About Annie Inglis
Marine Biology Presenter
The excitement and anticipation that each expedition guest brings to the Polar Regions is also what keeps Annie returning. She is a passionate and engaging educator. Her strong connection to the Arctic and Antarctic has been nurtured through her polar work since 2002, and she continues to be captivated and humbled by the beauty of this remote area. Annie will be sharing her particular expertise in polar mammals, helping you to better understand and appreciate these well-adapted animals of the marine and land environments.
Originally from the Australian outback, a far cry from these icy landscapes, Annie was lured to Melbourne for education in the science and management fields. After living and working in the UK, she returned to Australia for her career, further studies and much better weather. Back home in bayside Melbourne, Annie enjoys scuba diving, bush walking, cycling and basically anything immersing her in the natural environment. Her penchant for all things nautical has also led her to gain her commercial skipper’s license.
Over the past two decades, Annie has been privileged to spend more time in the Arctic and Antarctic (observing mammals) than on Australian terra firma. This has been interspersed with work in the Galapagos Islands. With her experience, passion and knowledge of mammalian biology and the ecology of the Polar Regions, Annie is thrilled to share your adventure and learning journey.
