About Ross Day

History Presenter

Ross grew up in Cambridge in the United Kingdom where his passion for polar history began during frequent visits to the Scott Polar Research Institute. He then went on to gain a Bachelor's Degree in history and a Master's Degree in medieval studies. Ross' love for polar history grew further while researching and learning about Sir John Franklin's 1845 expedition to discover the North-West passage in the Canadian Arctic and Captain Robert Falcon Scott's race to the south pole in 1912.

Ross has since become an avid Polar Historian and, when not in the Polar Regions, dedicates his time to restoring and colourising photographs of polar history and sharing them online. Ross believes that being able to bring these historical pictures back to life allows us to feel connected with our joint polar history and to better understand the incredible importance of both the Arctic and Antarctic.
