Tim is an International (IFMGA) Mountain Guide based in Chamonix, France.

He first visited the polar regions in 2000 when he worked for the British Antarctic Survey looking after scientists in 'Deep Field'. Since then, he has led countless expeditions from small boats, climbing and skiing peaks all over the world. In addition to many first ascents, he led the first private, then commercial heli-skiing expeditions to Antarctica. While working in the tourism sector he has continued to assist scientific research and has been credited in two papers focusing on biology on the Antarctic Peninsula. In the Arctic, he has skied and climbed in Southwest and East Greenland (including first ascents) and ski/sailed in Svalbard many times.

He is the Technical Director for the British Mountain Guides and is Technical Advisor to Quark Expeditions.
